Travel south through Colombo and continue along the coastal expressway to Galle. Explore the atmospheric streets, ramparts and colonial architecture of Galle Fort.

Enjoy a relaxed coastal journey through Unawatuna, Koggala and Weligama before reaching Mirissa. Stop at beaches, viewpoints and fishing villages along the way.

Travel east through the southern countryside towards Tissamaharama and Yala. Enjoy an afternoon jeep safari in search of elephants, crocodiles, deer, birdlife and, with luck, leopards.

Travel tip: The east coast can feel very different from southern Sri Lanka, with quieter roads and distinct local culture.
Continue north to Trincomalee and Nilaveli. Visit coastal viewpoints, historic landmarks and sacred sites before settling into your beach hotel.

Travel from the northeast towards the Jaffna Peninsula. Pass through changing landscapes before arriving in Sri Lanka’s northern cultural capital.

Travel tip: This is one of the longer driving days, so regular comfort stops will be included.

Travel tip: The route may be adjusted according to road conditions and preferred Mannar stops.
Explore the sacred city of Anuradhapura and its ancient stupas, reservoirs and monastic remains. Continue to Mihintale before travelling to the Sigiriya region.

Climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress in the morning, then continue towards Polonnaruwa to explore the medieval capital. An optional wildlife safari can be arranged later in the day.

Travel through the central highlands to Ella by road or scenic train, subject to ticket availability. Visit Nine Arch Bridge, Ravana Falls or a selected viewpoint.

Leave the hill country and travel towards Colombo or Bandaranaike International Airport. The final transfer will be planned around your confirmed flight time or onward accommodation.

Warm tropical conditions with seasonal rainfall. Coastal activities will be planned around local weather and sea conditions.

Hot daytime temperatures are common. Early starts are recommended for outdoor heritage visits.
