Day 2
Negombo – Dambulla – Sigiriya
Travel into Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle. Visit the UNESCO-listed Dambulla Cave Temple before continuing to Sigiriya. Enjoy a relaxed evening surrounded by rural landscapes.
Day 3
Sigiriya – Trincomalee
Climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress in the morning or choose the nearby Pidurangala viewpoint. Afterwards, travel east to Trincomalee and check into your coastal hotel.
Day 4
Trincomalee and Nilaveli
Explore Koneswaram Temple, Fort Frederick, Lovers’ Leap and Trincomalee’s natural harbour. Continue to Nilaveli Beach for swimming, relaxation and optional seasonal whale or dolphin watching.
Day 5
Pigeon Island Marine Experience
Take an optional boat trip to Pigeon Island National Park when weather and sea conditions permit. Enjoy snorkelling, coral reefs and marine wildlife before returning to Nilaveli for a relaxed afternoon.
Day 6
Trincomalee – Passikudah
Travel south along Sri Lanka’s east coast to Passikudah. Check into your beach resort and enjoy the calm, shallow turquoise water for which this area is famous.
Day 7
Passikudah Beach Holiday
Spend a full day relaxing at Passikudah or Kalkudah Beach. Optional activities include snorkelling, kayaking, sailing, cycling, spa treatments and family-friendly water experiences.
Day 8
Passikudah – Batticaloa – Kandy
Visit Batticaloa’s lagoon, fort and local cultural attractions before travelling inland to Kandy. Enjoy an evening beside Kandy Lake or attend an optional cultural performance.
Day 9
Kandy – Airport or Colombo
Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic if time permits, then travel privately to Colombo, Bandaranaike International Airport or your selected hotel.
